If You Give A Kid A Pancake
If you give a kid a pancake that I've made...it's a pretty safe bet they won't eat it. Apparently I not only suck at making dinner, I suck at making breakfast too. The worst part is, I had to drag myself out of bed at 6:30, slave over a hot griddle and then ended up throwing the nasty things away. I could have saved myself a whole lot of trouble AND slept an hour longer. Thank goodness for Pop Tarts.

Crock Pot Chronicles #5 Update
I've learned to wait at least 3 hours after eating before I declare dinner a success, but I am pretty confident that this time....I done good. Yes, it was beige and yes, it slightly resembled the Cat Puke fiasco of 2011 but it tasted good. In fact it tasted so good that I actually decided to eat it.
Anna went back for seconds (that NEVER happens) and I even got the thumbs up from Kayla!
Unfortunately, Anna discovered my dirty little secret. The fact that I won't eat my own cooking. I guess the jig is up.
Crock Pot Chronicles Episode #5-New Beginnings
It's the start of a new school year which means it's time to dust off the ole crock pot and start cooking again. The girls are NOT going to be thrilled about this one! They saw the crockpot sitting on the counter this morning and big sighs arose from both. Can't say I blame them. I haven't had the best track record in this area, but hey...it's a new year...a new recipe....so I say "Let's get cooking!" I pulled this recipe off the internet this morning. Partly because it looked easy and partly because I had all the ingredients in the house.
With one teeny weeny little exception. The recipe called for garlic powder but all I had was garlic salt. Aren't the two interchangeable? Not really sure, but I say YES...YES they are!
Hopefully in 6 hours we will have a yummy dinner. Crossing my fingers (and toes)!
